Recipe for a nutritious Vegetable Burger ….

Preperation Time: 20 minutes

Cooking Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients (For 04 burgers):

For Cutlets:

  • Soya Granules : 1/3 cup
  • Grated Carrot: ½ cup
  • Finely chopped Mushrooms: ¼ cup
  • Finely Chopped Onions: 1/3 cup
  • Grated cottage cheese: ½ cup
  • Soy sauce: 2/3 Teaspoon
  • Chilli sauce: 2/3 Teaspoon
  • Whole wheate / Maize flour: 1.5 Teaspoon
  • Salt & Black pepper (ground) : To taste

For the low calorie Thousand Island dressing

  • Low fat curd /sour cream: 1/8 cup
  • Mustard Powder: 1/3 Teaspoon
  • Tomato ketchup: 1 Tablespoon
  • Chilli sauce: 1/3 Teaspoon
  • Chopped Onions: 2/3 Teaspoon
  • Chopped Capsicum: 2/3 Teaspoon
  • Chopped green chillies: 1/8 Teaspoon

For Burgers:

  • Whole wheat buns: 04 Nos.
  • Sliced Tomato: 02 Nos./8 slices
  • Sliced Onion: 01 No. / 4 slices
  • Lettuce / Cabbage leaves: 8 Nos.

Directions:

  • Clean the soya granules thoroughly with water and soak in 1 cup of hot water for 15 minutes and drain.
  • Mix the soaked soya granules and all other ingredients for cutlets and mix well  in a large bown to prepare a smooth mixture and form 04 Nos. cutlets.
  • Cook the cutlets in a non stick pan with a little oil/butter unitl the colour becomes golden brown.
  • Mix all the ingredients for dressing thoroughly and keep aside.
  • Put the frying pan on medium heat and lightly toast the buns with butter and slice in two halves.
  • Spread the dressing on each half.
  • Prepare each burger by putting 01 cutlet,  02 slices of tomato, 01 onion slice and 02 lettuce / cabbage leaves.
  • Serve hot with ketchup and choice of sauce.
