The winner ate 29 burgers in 10 minutes | Competition Results | News

Stewart’s in Marlboro held its first slider eating competition. The contestants had to eat as many burgers they can, within 10 minutes. 16 contestants have tested their ability in the competition. We informed our regular readers about the same here (on 2nd of this month).

David Brunelli (also called “Tiger Wings and Things”) was the winner of the competition by eating 29 burgers (yes right, there is no typo, 29 burgers in 10 minutes). He used to participate in such competition on regular bases. Interesting thing is David (a former professional boxer) is the winner by one burger. The fellow who conquered the second place by eating 28 burgers is Marcos Owens (pat name “The Monster”). You may like to know the fact that these guys are competing against each other other third time. The first time Marcos won, the second time he lost by one burger and so with this time. So they are going neck to neck we can say.

There was a panel of 16 people judging the competition including the Mayor John Hornik, Councilman Frank LaRocca and Council President Randi Marder amongst others. These type of events makes people cheerful, especially after Marlboro was hit hart from the hurricane Irene recently. Overwhelming response to the competition by the local show the fighting spirit and livelihood of the locales and kudos to them. BTW: The winner of the competition banked $250 and of course his name is engraved in the slider trophy, which is placed for display at Stewart’s.
