Smashburger – Smash, Sizzle, Savor…

Smashburger, a chain of Burger restaurants, was founded in 2007 by tom Ryan in Denver with a mission to “be every city’s favourite place for burgers. Smashburger As of early 2011, it has 100 locations nationwide with plans to double up the count by 2012. The name comes from the process used to cook burgers, which entails smashing a ball of 100% Certified Angus ground beef on a grill to sear in the juices.

Smashburger’s menu focuses primarily on Burgers, Chicken Sandwiches, Hot Dogs, and Salads, with a wide variety of toppings and customization options. The restaurant serves localized burgers in each market based on regional flavors. The burger menu has Classic and American smashburgers offered with American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Ketchup, Onion, Pickles and smash sauce on an egg bun. There are add on options including applewood Smoked Bacon, Beefy Chilli, Fried Egg, Guacamole, Garlic Sauteed mushrooms, Avocado, Jalapenos and Swiss Cheese. You can create your own smashburger with a choice of Bun from Classic Egg, Multi-Grain or Spicy Chipotle, Cheese from American, Aged Swiss, Sharp Cheddar, Blue or Pepper Jack and sauce and toppings from the ones listed above.

There is a mouthwatering range of grilled and crispy Chicken Sanwiches, chicken breast dressed variety of toppings on an egg/multi grained bun. Smashburger also offers a broad variety of sides, which go well beyond French fries to include Sweet Potato fries, Fried Onions, Fried mild green chilies, Veggiefrites, Fried pickles and Chili.

Desserts include Shakes, Malts and Floats made with Haagen-Dazs ice cream. The chain also serves alcohol, offering Beer, Wine and Mike’s Hard Lemonade, in addition to assorted Malt-beverage floats and Liqueur-blended shakes.

True to its mission, Smashburger has  received a number of best-burger accolades and continues to rank highly for their burger offerings.
