Roy Rogers Restaurants – The cowboy way….

Roy Rogers Restaurants, a chain of US fast-food family restaurants was founded by Mariott Corporation at Falls Church, virginia in 1968. Named ofter cowboy movie actor Roy Rogers, the chain had over 650 locations at its peak when it was sold to Hardee’s in 1990. However, customers did not accept conversion of Roy Rogers restaurants to Hardee’s and it finally ended in Hardee’s selling the locations to other chains like McDonald’s, wendy’s and Boston market. As of 2010, Roy Rogers has 47 locations.

The menu consists primarily of Hamburgers, Roast Beef Sandwiches, Fried chicken, French Fries and Beverages. The signature items at Roy Rogers are the Double R Bar Burger, a Cheeseburger with ham  and the Gold Rush chicken sandwich, a fried chicken breast with bacon accompanied by a slice of monterrey jack cheese & a honey-based BBQ sauce.

The sides include French Fries, Baked Potatoes, Mashed Potatoes with gravy, Baked Beans, Coleslaw,  Fruit Cup, Baked apples and Chicken & Garden Salads. Some Roy Rogers have Fixin’s Bar where the customers can garnish their sandwiches and burgers to their own taste with Ketchup, BBQ sauce, Mayonnaise, Horseradish Sauce, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles and Onions.

Roy Rogers also has a breakfast menu featuring Cinnamon Roll, Cream chipped beef, Egg platter, Fruit Salad and Pancakes. It serves Kids’ meals also with specialty Cheeseburger, Hamburger and Chicken Tenders. And lastly a range of  desserts including Brownies, Sundaes and Ice creams along with iced sodas and juices.
