Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub: World’s largest hamburgers are here…..

Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub, a small restaurant and bar opened in Septemeber 1977 at Clearfield, Pennsylvania by Denny Liegey Sr., rose to fame in 1996 with its “Ye Olde 96er” which was 6-pound burger with about 5 pound of toppings.  The “heavy” journey of these “BIG” hamburgers started at 2 pound and has reached to 123 pound so far.

“Ye Olde 96er” was followed by the Beer Barrel Belly Buster – the giant containing 10.5 pounds of ground beef, 25 slices of cheese, a whole head of lettuce, 03 tomatoes, 02 onions, 1.5 cup of mayonnaise, relish, ketchup, mustart and banana peppers served on one huge hamburger bun.

And on February 24, 2007 Denny introduced a 123 pound burger – a monster with 80 pounds of ground beef, 160 slices of cheese, 12 tomatoes, 05 onions, 01 pound of lettuce, ketchup, relish, mustard, mayonnaise, 2 pound banana peppers, 33 pickles served on a 30 pound bun.

Besides the BIG burgers, Denny’s has a very inviting menu featuring variety of burgers, sides and beverages served at the restaurant and for takeouts.
