McDonald’s pushing the efforts to serve healthier food | News

According to the official news release from McDonald’s they will be updating the menus and recipes in Latin America to reduce the calorie levels in the Happy Meal to less then 1/3 of the daily recommended intake. The standard was proposed by WHO (World Health Organization).

The process will start from October 1st and then it will be continuous evolution of menu to make it nutritionally balanced and the motto is providing not only good quality and tasty food but also provide good quality of life. Not only burgers but also other items being worked on, for example, a new size of French fries is create especially for Happy Meal, which will have average 100 calories (it was having around 200 calories previously).

McDonald’s restaurants in Latin America have also worked on reducing the amount of sodium in Buns, cheese, ketchup and more items, by average of 10% in effort to make them nutritionally well balanced. They are even updating their juice recipes to reduce the amount of sugar used in the same.

They offer, side salad (combination of green leaves and tomatoes) which will have less than 10 calories without dressing. They have spend a remarkable time researching for the nutritionally well balanced item to be tastier, so we can expect the delicious food, of course.
