In a generous note, a fund-raiser event is organized at Lake Cowichan’s Cow Cafe, Saturday, October 15, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The purpose of the event is to raise money for toddler with cancer. Ryan and Laura MacDonald’s toddler Hayley is currently undergoing chemotherapy. At present the family lives in Nanaimo, Lake Cowichan but the fund-raiser Lorraine Fales said that Ryan grew up in the area and many people know him and his parents since long. To help them fight against the cancer with their toddler, they think of this fund-raising idea. Now, let us hope that the place will be filled in with people and many many burgers will be sold so a large amount of money will be available for the good cause. A burger and beer combo will cost $10, with all proceeds raised going to the MacDonald family. Don’t worry if you cannot visit the place at the given time, if you still want to help them, you can credit money in “Hayley MacDonald” account at Lake Cowichan’s Royal Bank.
