Global warming is a serious issue and we find majority of people talking about the issue and its solution. Though the solutions are hi-fi in a sense like using solar energy, using vehicles on sharing bases, plantation of trees and more. What can be done at the small scale which is easy to do and have large impact if done in a greater quantity on the regular bases? With the same vision, Stanford Biochemistry Professor Pat Brown came with an interesting idea.
“I was trying to think of what the most useful thing I could do with the best possible impact on the global environment, particularly climate change,” Brown said. “By far the most destructive industry is animal farming. I decided on a project to come up with alternatives for meat and dairy products”; Brown quoted according to various Internet sources.
A study says that the meat industry is one of the key contributor to the environment problems and around 305 of the land is used for animal farming. Having a vegan burger can prove a great alternative, if implemented effectively by fast food chains like McDonald’s. As vegan burgers are equivalent in calories, they are cheaper than those of non-vegan.
What’s your take on this? Would you order a vegan burger next time you visit the fast-food joint (in order to support the climate)?
