Burgers and BurgerJoints in the News | October 2012

Hamburgers aka Burgers are one of the most loving fast food. The reasons for its popularity includes (but not limited to) the number of varieties, easy to make and eat, any time you can eat, it can be eaten with anything (eg, from wine to coke to soda to juice) and any one. . And they are AFFORDABLE too. You can find range from a couple of USD to 5 USD, 10 USD and similar. However there are some burgers available for which price is a quite high, and we cannot say they are affordable 🙂 (at least for everyone, if you are a business tycoon, or a wealthy fellow, or a celebrity or similar, then the things are different for you…).

For example FleurBurger 5000 is consider as the costliest burger with its price of USD5000!!! Of course all of us cannot try this one 🙂 but it is served at Fleur de Lys in Mandalay Bay, in case you wanna try.

Same way the hamburger made by Steve Mallie on Sept. 17th, 2009 weight 185 pounds! and hence the same was a luxurious item to eat.

Le Burger Brasserie, Paris Le Burger Brasserie, Nevada serves a burger named “Kobe Beef and Maine Lobster Burger” which costs more than $750!

Serendipity Burger from Serendipity 3 restaurant, NewYork costs $295 (quite affordable, compare to others listed right 🙂 ).

So it is a strange and rich world of burgers…

Some food joints from Abilene runs several food competitions periodically to attract people to come there and try their eating skills (which serves the purpose of marketing for them as well, of course). For example Heff’s Burgers runs “The Triple Challenge”. The challenge is to eat a remarkable amount of food (burger with three half-pound patties, fries made from three potatoes and 20-ounce drink) in limited time span (10 minutes). The winner can have a free meal and some more rewards too. Similarly, Wholly Grail is a competition available at Wholly Cow have a little different kind of competition. Here the time span is 30 minutes and the competitor needs to eat a milkshake a burger with around 2 pounds of meat and 3 pounds of fries. And if you cannot finish the food within the time limit, the triple challenge cost you $10 and wholly grail cost you a little more than $27.

So what are you going to try next…? Let us know your thoughts.
